Regulations


  1. Valid membership is required of all who enter the Library.
  2. All patrons are required to behave considerately and to respect the study needs of others.
  3. Mobile devices may be used only in silent mode.
  4. The Library takes no responsibility for the security of personal belongings. Patrons should take care of their possessions at all times.
  5. Personal belongings should not be left unattended or used to reserve study places. Library staffs may remove books and other personal items that have been left for more than 30 minutes. Items left unclaimed for a length of time will be disposed of.
  6. Patrons must not mark, deface, damage or destroy any Library resources or property.
  7. Smoking, eating and drinking, with the exception of drinking water in secure bottles, is not allowed in the Library.
  8. Patrons are expected to dispose of their own litter in the bins provided.
  9. Please refer to the Library’s website for details of borrowing policies.
  10. Patrons must comply with Hong Kong SAR ordinances relating to: Copyright and intellectual property; Defamation; Pornography; Data protection; Health and safety.
  11. Electronic mail is the default means of communication between the Library and patrons. The Library will not be held responsible if patrons do not receive a particular notice.
  12. Patrons must notify the Library immediately if there are change of contact information.
  13. Library staffs have the authority to maintain good order in the Library. They may suspend or permanently revoke a patron’s access to the Library and Library resources if the patron fails to comply with these Library Regulations, or acts in any way which may interfere with the convenience of other patrons or the work of the Library.
