Description:

Sociology is basically the study of people and their behaviour. What aspects of and how our lives are shaped by different social influences are explored in this discipline of social sciences. Sociology does not deny or diminish the value of individual experiences. It is through reflecting these experiences our sensitivity towards the wider context of the universe of social activity is developed. The topics covered in this course include: objectivity of Sociology, Social Structure and Human Behaviour, Culture and Society, Culture and Norms, Socialization, Social Interaction, Conformity and Deviance, Class Stratification, Ethnicity and Race, Groups and Organizations, Politics and Government, Social Institutions, Social Change and Methods and Theories in Sociology.
