Rules

1. For new user, please go to our Centre for new borrower registration. After successful registration, one can enjoy our borrower service.

Person who can exempt includes:

    a. Members of Diocesan Committee of Bioethics

    b. Valid library card holder of Holy Spirit Seminary College

2. For registration, please bring along your identity card or other identity document with the latest residential address proof in person. HK$500 as cash deposit is needed. All cash deposit will be returned when you discontinue to use our borrowing services.

3. Concerning the booklists and searching

    a. The booklists has been included in the “Bookshelf” section of our website.

    b. Information of books can be found in the library catalog of the Holy Spirit Seminary College, located at “HSS Library Bioethics Resource Centre Collection” Reader can enter the search link through the “HSSC library catalog” section of our website.

    c. While our Centre is a branch of the Holy Spirit Seminary College, we can offer you to borrow Bioethics related books inside the library of HSSC with the same procedure and rules under our Centre.

4. Details concerning the borrowing

    a. After searching your target book, please email or phone us for reservation.Pick up in person on Monday or Thursday, 9:00-13:00; 14:00-17:00 (closed at public holidays)

    b. You may keep the books for 14 days and return at the opening hours of our Centre.

    c. You can renew ONCE for the items with proper registry in person or by phone.

    d. A maximum of 3 items at one time.

    e. You should go through the borrow procedure every time.

    f. For expired items, we charges HK$5 per day. (While we open on Monday and Thursday, therefore, the closing day from Tuesday to Saturday is accountable inside the penalty period except Sunday and public holidays)

    g. For handling the price of missing item:

    i/Price (according to the new book) plus $100 administration fees per item;

    ii/For reader who reports on the loss after the borrowing period, expiratory fine should also be settled.
